Survivor Celebration

2010 Hope on field

The Komen Race for the Cure® is a celebration of survivorship and a day to honor those who have lost their battle to breast cancer. We are inspired by the hope and strength demonstrated by breast cancer survivors and the community of co-survivors that support them in their journey. Each year, over 600 Greater Cincinnati women and men celebrate another year of survivorship with us on Race Day!

ZTA Booths:  Registered breast cancer survivors may pick up complimentary pink caps and pink ribbons, one for each year of survivorship, at the ZTA Booths on Race Day. In addition, pink survivor t-shirts will be mailed/given with the 2011 Race T-shirt to all registered breast cancer survivors. The Breast Cancer Survivor Recognition Program is nationally sponsored by Zeta Tau Alpha.

Breakfast in Komen Kafe:  All registered breast cancer survivors are invited to join us for a pre-Race breakfast in the Komen Kafe, located inside of the Great American Ball Park. Your “pink” bib number will gain your entrance to Komen Kafe on Race Day.

Tribute Placards:  We also invite Race participants to recognize those special people who have been touched by a breast cancer diagnosis.  “In Memory of” and “In Celebration of” back placards will be available for all Race participants on Race Day in the Registration Area and at the Survivor Tent.  Thank you to Zeta Tau Alpha, the national sponsor of this program.

Survivor Recognition Ceremony:  Please plan to join us for the Closing Survivor Recognition Ceremony and Awards Program after the Race. The program includes recognition of survivors, co-survivors, runner awards and fundraising recognition activities.
